[Gmail-Users] Gmail IMAP mailbox on iPhone and iPad not fully syncing with Mac Mail IMAP mailbox - also a question about dragging mail between accounts

2013-03-17 Thread Doug Lerner
I created a new Mailbox in one account in Mail on my iMac yesterday. To it, I dragged the contents of the inbox from another account. Both are Gmail accounts. All the email shows up fine on my iMac, includes emails from March. One question is: I was surprised the drag seemed to move the mails

The first question is about MacMail, cause it's a function of the program, not the system, so I don't know your answer. The second is a little bit as well. IMAP clients often will only synchronize a limited amount of mail at a time when you change a large amount. Perhaps you didn't leave the Mac

Even after deleting the IMAP account on my iPad and recreating it, the Mailbox in question is not showing all the mails I can see in the same mailbox on my iMac or in Gmail via the web. It still only shows through February, just like before. I wonder what the problem can be. doug On Sund

I did try load more messages, but that just loads even older messages. I also tried on my older iPhone 4 - but it's the same thing. For some reason the latest messages in that one mailbox from March just will not show up on any of my iOS devices. Not all my email accounts are Gmail, so I didn't

The limit to preview is set to 50. But you can always load more messages. I believe that setting is not days, but actual number of messages. I don't see a setting for days anywhere - either in Mail settings or in the account settings. At any rate, the messages not showing are those since Feb 28
