The Topic is: Examples of Scripts to help customize our environment. The next meeting is TONIGHT, Monday 1/13/2002 at 7pm in Morse Hall room 301.
The idea is to show how users can use scripts to perform multiple functions that they normally have to do by hand. Examples will include a script called "xask" which is an xterm that asks for a remote system it should connect to. An "email" script that checks to see what system you're on, or coming from, and changes it's behavior accordingly. Finally a script called "cryptcut" which puts a password into the X paste buffer, after matching it in an encrypted file. We'll also work on any scripts that attendees would like to have but do not know how to start. Directions can be found on the SLUG website "http://slug.gnhlug.org". -------------------------------------------------------------- Robert E.
