If this were a different time of year, that would be more of a problem.
Since this is a holiday season, people are less likely to have a coherent
plan for a date over a month away. Of course, as soon as you have a date
and city nailed down (not necessarily a speaker), it's a good idea to send
out a notice for those of us who will make the calendar entry.

The real issue about the long lead time is for certain media. I think you
still have time to get a notice in the calendar section of NH Business
Review, the bi-weekly business tabloid. That notice would need date/time,
place, and speaker/topic all fully nailed down. If you have enough lead
time for them, you probably are okay with other media where you have a
reasonable chance of a mention.

The idea of having a joint meeting with another association complicates
things greatly. Back in the NNEUUG days, I worked out several joint
meetings between NNEUUG and other user groups (even GNHLUG). To do this,
we had to be flexible about dates, not always adhering to our formula.
I say: if one of the organizations insists on adhering to their formula
date, then make them responsible for obtaining the speaker.
