git hurdle with translation submission!

Why would I need to clone the entire package/application, when I just work on single translation po file? It's very difficult for localizers running on low speed internet connection to clone the entire packages like gtk, evolution, etc. just to submit a single po file. Can we have a different

Which branch do you want to let translators work on? gnome-2-26 or master? master, I guess. What is the normal gnome custom? it depends on what you want to be translated, perhaps you would like teams to translate 2.26 since it's stable, or you prefer translators to focus on trunk/master since 2.
