A dasher user pointed me to http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=240958#c8 and dasher does indeed suffer from the same problem. What should be used for translations? For that matter, many of these systems have lots of depencies, what is it that you actually need from a project? "Just" .po
