Problem with gnome-spell configure.in file

Hello, I was about to commit Assamese translations for gnome-spell module and I needed to put "as" in the ALL_LINGUAS field in configure.in file. I saw that the list of language codes are not alphabetical. The list has "ar am az"... I have put "as" before "az" but after "am". The list should proba

also interested in applying for the maintainer-ship for the assamese translation project (if sunaram is ok with it) since in his reply to Ross Golder, Sunaram has said that he is inactive (mail to gnome-i18n on 20th November 2006). can anyone tell me the proper way to apply for maintainer-ship ?

need meaning of a string
