Hi all,

GNOME Terminal has two menu items (Tabs->Move Tab to the Left and
Tabs->Move Tab to the Right; to see then activated you need to have
several tabs open) which seem to be problematic in RTL languages.
Cf. <http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=383031>.

I'm not sure I understand the problem (sadly, I do not read any RTL
language :/ ) but I think this would be fixed if people that translate
into a RTL language translate "Move Tab to the Left" into that language
equivalent for "Move Tab to the Right" and vice versa. Probably the same
would be needed for the menu items Tabs->Next Tab and Tabs->Previous Tab
unless ‘next’ is usually interpreted as right in a RTL language...

I could handle this in code, asking gtk what the text direction is for
the menu widget and interchaning the strings corresponding to Left and
Right. But I do not know if this is good enough in all languages.

So: how does one usually deal with this problem?

Cheers,
