Removing files created by proprietary software is good. It further
removes references to proprietary software from the system.
I once saw a .MAC_OSX file in a tarball I downloaded. They're
not .DS_store anymore. They're full-on ads for Apple.

into in each folder that is browsed with the file manager - they are
named thumbs.db or something like that
