Just for kicks, can you try the goffice-update branch?
I mean, there's clearly some 64-bit issues in the GOG code,
but I think Josh plans to merge the updated goffice code
back into the trunk, in which case it doesn't make sense to
try to fix the bugs in the current code.

I've updated the translation wiki page to reflect the migration
to SVN and the urge to translate the 1.9 sources instead of 1.8.
Someone should probably make sure that the wiki and the HOWTO
in SVN actually match up properly.

The goffice-update branch fails as well but at a different location in
the process. However, it appears that this branch fails far later in
the compilation process. But then again, I really don't know if the
