It is a known bug that was fixed for v3.8. If you can’t upgrade for some reason, there is a manual fix you can apply by editing a special GnuCash file. Edit /usr/share/gnucash/gtkbuilder/dialog-search.glade and change the value in line 305 (the expand property) to True. When you're done it
