Hi David, Thanks. I’ve studied the cap gains and think I have a reasonable understanding of how to determine either manually or by scrubbing. In this case, I sold the stock for exactly what I paid for it. I waited until the price was close and put a limit order in and it hit. No commission

Dennis, When you sold the stock you realized a capital gain or loss. To account for that in GnuCash is a little tricky. You can determine the amount by adding up all cash spent to buy the stock and the sale proceeds. The difference is the (hopefully) gain. Look in the tutorial for details on

Where do you want to see the present balance? If you have the account register open you can see the present balance in the bottom left corner of the register next to the future balance, cleared balance, reconciled balance and projected minimum balances. You can run various reports to get many

Please remember to copy the list on all replies. Did you change the style sheet in report options to point to your new style sheet? There's no need to restart GnuCash. If you change the report option it will reload the report for you, but if you only edit the selected stylesheet you'll need to

Hi Following on from my earlier note: I have done a complete rebuild of Ubuntu 21.04 (to replace my incrementally upgraded system) and I can report that, for me at least, the "transparency problem" can be removed by using Gnome Tweaks (aka Tweaks) to change the Applications theme (under
