Jeff Don't know if it will help, but I would be inclined to disable the sicklylife ppa while your are attempting to build gnucash from sources. I think you should be able to disable it without deleting it entirely from the Software Sources. I can't see anything else there that is likely to cause

As part of trying to get a dark theme for Gnucash I enabled GTK's dark theme: gtk-application-prefer-dark-theme=true But with that enabled negative numbers no longer show up in red, they're all in white. I don't have any customized CSS that selects for a font color so it shouldn't be that.

Dave - not sure if you are aware of importing your transactions using Quicken, OFX or CSV formatted file from your broker if they provide ability to download. OFX formatted file gives the best result with no pre-processing required while CSV one will need pre-processing before importing it. It
