Hi. How could I support the creation of the invoicing feature that exists in
the desktop version into the android version of gnu cash? Perhaps with
additional features for starting the clock and pausing for breaks in

Arthur, I'm in Perth WA, self employed in own business and was using
Quickbooks 2002 to keep my records but much was in flux.
I no longer have the ability to reinstall my QB and it's on an old XP
32bit machine so I thought it was time to upgrade, so to what?
I suspect I've waited too long for QB

Thinking differently here, I see a red flag because there is an
unexplained relationship between the owners of the properties. I'd
suggest that
Arthur,
You appear to be in Australia or somewhere that has a similar tax system.
Short answer - you derive income from the properties you rent out - you are
conducting a business.
If you are in Australia you will be subject to capital gains tax on all the
properties apart from your main
You haven't even mentioned which country you are in let alone which state.
Obviously you need to relate the question to the tax jurisdiction you are
in.
GST? Australia? I don't know if other countries call it a gst but it's a
common tax.
This question would be better addressed to your local
Hope this is the right way to introduce a new question/thread.
I and my ex jointly own four properties two of which are rented out.
We are not registered for gst and are not in business though I have an ABN
leftover from when I attempted an online business.
Are we conducting an enterprise?
Hi Phil,
before I start: it seems the mail server rejected your mail because of
the for it unknown attachment. Perhaps Derek will comment on that later.
Thunderbird did not display your attachment. I had to trick it to
display it in LibreOffice.
David is right, just register your wiki account
What distro and version?
What version of GnuCash?
Does exiting full screen help?
Does not starting in full screen help?
Are you using a second display, or have you used a second display, in

I think this sort of problem is more likely to occur if you have a fairly
low resolution monitor or have your display driver set for a lower
resolution than your display can show. It may be necessary to take GnuCash
out of full screen mode to see what is behind it if Alt-Tab or Window-Tab
doesn't
I still have the problem on Linux. Gnucash is running full screen.
The list of windows is:
GnuCash Tip Of ...
q2016.gnucash
If I Iconify both of them, there still is a window on the screen.
That window is the GnuCash welcome(?) one.
It has the version number, and at the bottom says: Loading

If you recall, when you set up check printing in Quicken there was some
trial and error adjusting the printing to fit your check stock. There will
also be some trial and error in GnuCash.
Good luck.

First, I highly recommend you read the GnuCash documentation. The
Tutorial and Guide are very useful in explaining the concepts, and the
Help is useful at explaining what the buttons do.
Having said that, there are two ways to enter a transaction like a Check.
The first is to open the Transfer
Running version 4.6 on a Windows 10 computer, language set to Spanish. The
menus and icons installed in Spanish as has been the case in the past. Just
recently the program opened to all English menus and icons. Could that be
something in a Windows 10 update? The system language is still Spanish.
Hi,
Welcome to GnuCash.

I'm afraid the answer is: probably not. GnuCash can import QIF, OFX, CSV,
and a few other formats, but

HI,
Looks like I might need some help here as well as offering a rewrite for the
‘How to change documentation in GNUCash, which I find difficult, confusing and
overly technical when the audience is documenters who may well not be
developers.
It has taken me a whole afternoon to unravel what
I have some backup data from Sage Line 50 V11.1
Is it possible to convert the data to gnucash accounting system?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
I have transferred my account from Quicken to Gnucash and can open it fine but
I can't find any way to write a check or enter it. How can I do that or where
can I find instructions on it. I am just a basic user with no accounting
training or experience beyond Quicken.
