I've got myself into a pickle and have no idea how it happened or how to

run Actions > Check & Repair > Check & Repair All when first opening a
file after an upgrade between major releases.
These checks and repairs are supposed to run automatically, but that
doesn't always go smoothly or complet

control, but your OS allows you to scroll other 'background' windows. (I
know MacOS and some Linux distributions can do this,

and Repair function has a different scope of operation depending on which
type of window has the current focus when it is invoked, and that if
started from a window that allows access to the entire inventory of

I could be mistaken, but I thought that the 'All' function negated the
need to be viewing the CoA when running it, and that the non-All
function operates as you describe. (context aware)

couple of trials you can do
1.
check the last log file and open it and see if it is allowing you to enter , if
so you have re enter the last bit of transactions
2.
other way is, copy the file to a different directly in windows and try opening
it

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried them both and didn't make any
progress. Then I tried the obvious and opened the immediately preceding
.gnucash file. This file worked fine. All I have to do is re-enter the
entries I made, not a big project.

I just ran it again with the debug enabled as per John's instructions.
Again: I have not done any kind of setup of online banking or anything like
that, I'm only going to File-Import-AQBanking-Swift on the left-Swift-MT940
on the right side and click OK. Nothing happens after that.

Looking at "ERROR 429: Too Many Requests." I am guessing that they are
throttling your queries because number of requests from IP address you have
exceeds what they believe to be a normal person browsing would be making...

portability from the fact that a great deal is rolled into the package so

There aren't any errors there, just progress messages. It's complaining that
you don't have the setup files, but it doesn't need them for a plain file
import. It's quite possible that your bank's MT940 format doesn't match either
of the profiles. Different banks interpret MT940 spec diff
