Importing invoices is a little more difficult and the data must be a little
more precise than importing customers. When I got it to work (in the latest
version) I had text strings in the "ID" field & "owner id" field.
I also stuck in a "date_opened" date (date when importing?).

Sorry I'm wrong - Customer ID is the Owner ID field.

Hey John - Nelson's advice on getting the latest version might help the
crashing problem. The specific error you get is in regards to Customer ID
which does not exist. Check what's in the "owner ID" column to see that all
are valid customer ID's. Any mismatch, no matter how subtle or slight,
Perhaps you borrow $10,000. For what, it doesn't matter. You now have a new
asset of $10,000, and a liability to pay back the $10,000 loan.
One equals the other - so there is perfect balance.
(I know no one borrows money just to have it. It's just to illustrate,)

Thanks David - I'm not really sure how useful Jobs will be, but it is a
little confusing, and appears tp be a singular list of Jobs but each job is
tagged as either a Vendor Job or a Customer Job.
Thanks again for your input - I'm learning as I go.
Thx for the tip on the double search too - I'm goi

Greetings - I am a fairly new user, and have a couple of business questions.
I was looking to see if I can make, print & send to vendors Purchase Orders
in GnuCash, and assign this to job(s) if necessary. I see Orders in the
Properties / Counters tab but there is little to no explanation as to wha
importing and posting, all one step. Thanks Nelson, all is good.
I appreciate your help & suggestions.

pardon the pun). I have it setup as a business type of accounting. I'm
