Hi, I'm looking for an account report with transactions for a certain time period with intial and final account value. E.g. account value at the beginning of the year, all transactions during the year and the total value at the end of the year. What would be the best way to create this?

I'll add a nuance that filtering by date first will produce a report where the first transaction *should* reflect the balance as of that point. (but not before) That is, you can subtract the first transaction to obtain 'Balance Forward' if you include the 'Running Balance' column. (you'd have

You can first filter the register view by date, then run the account report, but that won't be any different than the result from the Transaction Report. You won't get an 'opening balance' or 'balance forward' from previous dates that way. If you set up the members as 'customers', invoice

I never understood the utility of the Single Transaction report, but mine seems to work correctly. (3.6 on MacOS) In my case, I ran the report with one transaction highlighted in my Cash account, it reported that info showing me two debits to AP and one credit to Cash. Total Credits (cash)

Hi, I'm wondering if I'm misunderstanding how to use GnuCash or if maybe I'm doing something wrong. I would like to get a sum of the transaction amounts in a search result. For example, I'd like to see how much I've spent on Amazon in the last year. However, when calculating the total,

A Filtered version of the Account Report *will* give you total debits/credits for just that date range. But as my other reply and John’s reply note, there are many ways to get that info. Regards, Adrien > On Jul 26, 2019, at 11:20 AM, Rich Shepard wrote: > > > This is what I thoght I did.

The account report should show that as well (along with Total Credits) at the bottom but you need to set the ’Totals’ checkbox, but what you are describing sounds more like the Transaction Report. It is very powerful with respect to reporting just the transactions you want over custom date
