downloaded the source code for GPA 0.9.2 and tried to compile it on
mingw/msys
didn't quite work ...
here is what happened:
$ ./configure --prefix=/mingw
checking for a BSD-compatible install... /bin/install -c
checking whether build environment is sane... yes
checking for a thread-safe mkdir -

It is not designed to be build on Windows. We cross-build everything.
