Why hasn't there been any new release of SystemPreferences in the last
two years? This applications has improved a lot since February 2006 and
it is a very important application as it most likely is one of the first
applications a new GNUstep user will use.

I compiled it on FreeBSD 7 over the weekend and it was complaining
that GNUSTEP_INSTALLATION_DIR was deprecated. I added
GNUSTEP_INSTALLATION_DOMAIN=SYSTEM and it worked fine.
I would like to help wherever I can.
