I don't understand what the whole issue is about. Lets face it - Goans are the government of Goa - simple definition of democracy "Government of the people, by the people and for the people" - did I get that right? We have rights and all these rights have equal amount of duties i.e. If I drive, then I am duty bound to ensure my safety and safety of others. If the traffic police wants me to be safe then he enforces safety measures on me but not before providing me with an equal amount of safe environment. You see everything is linked or at least to some extent and this is true in all developed places except in our case, although we are the government. I have analyzed prior situations, (this is nothing new), Someone makes an issue of a dried leaf falling on the road and convinces all to jump onto his bandwagon to the secretariat where only he and he alone is offered the seat of Minister of Leaf Works. Comes the rain, someone slips on the leaf, falls and dies and we all bury him and leave happily after. The leaf is still there on the road - no wind to blow it away and than the guy who stirred the entire ruckus still drives day after day over the dried leaf. Only thing is we cannot pray (or is it do) enough for his government gifted four wheeler to slip over the dried leaf and turn turtle And yet the absolute truth is : we are the government. Like imagine, we pay 100 bucks to jump a queue to save 15 minutes and then spend 30 minutes waiting at the gas station or standing in a crowded bus (sardine can)at the Prasar (hope I got that right) to get home. Our civic sense and road protocol, menace of dogs and pigs etc cannot entirely be blamed on the government.
