The Government is pleased to hereby constitute the State Level
Steering Committee for the State of Environment Reports (SoERs),
as per the advice of the Ministry of Environment & Forests (MoEF),
Government of India. The membership of the Steering Committee
shall be as follows:
1. Chief Secretary …Chairman
2. Chief Conservator of Forests,
Forest Department …Member
3. Chief Engineer, Department of
Water Resources …Member
4. Director, Directorate of Industries,
Trade, Commerce & Mines …Member
5. Director, Directorate of Health
Services …Member
6. Director, Directorate of Agriculture …Member
7. Chief Inspector, Inspectorate of
Factories & Boilers …Member
8. Director, Directorate of
Municipal Administration …Member
9. Member Secretary, Goa State
Pollution Control Board …Member
10. Representative of Tata Energy
Resources Institute (TERI), Goa …Member
11. Director, Department of Science,
Technology & Environment …Member Secretary.
Consequently, the State Department of Science, Technology &
Environment (DSTE) and the Director, DSTE, shall function
as the Nodal Agency and the Nodal Officer, respectively,
to prepare the State of Environment Reports on a regular basis.
The Steering Committee will guide, supervise and monitor the
periodic preparation of State of Environment Reports and facilitate
the inter-departmental co-ordination required for the purpose.
The Steering Committee shall meet as often as necessary
at the discretion of the Chairman.
