INVITATION FOR BIDS FOR REMOVAL & DISPOSAL
OF GROUNDED VESSEL
No. 6/2(9)(RP)/2003-DT/4532
WHEREAS the vessel under the name and style of M. V. River Princess,
chartered by M/s. Salgaocar Mining industries Pvt. Ltd., Margao which
was grounded off Sinquerim beach, Candolim-Goa on the night of
06.06.2000 stood forfeited and vested with the Goavernment vide Order
of the Competent Authority dated 15.01.2001 and Rules framed thereunder.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Director of Tourism & the Competent
Authority who has been ordered by the Government to cause removal
of the grounded vessel M. V. River Princess as provided under
Sections 6, 7, 8 & 9 of the Goa Tourist Places (Protection &
Maintenance) Act, 2001 hereby invites sealed bids from the approved
and eligible bidders for removal and disposal of the said grounded
vessel "M. V. River Princess".
Duly completed and Sealed Tenders in two envelope system,
Envelope No. 1 with the Technical Bid for re floating and towing of
the Vessel and Envelope No.2 with the Financial Bid indicating the
cost of removal of the vessel for re floating and towing away wholly
and the disposal value, both enclosed in third Envelope, addressed
to the Director of Tourism & the Competent Authority shall be
dropped in the Tender Box kept in the Office of the Director of
Tourism on the 1st Floor of the Department at Patto,
Panaji, Goa-403 001
(India) on or before 3.00 p.m. of 11th February, 2003. The Bids shall
be opened in the Chamber of the Director of Tourism at 3.30 p.m.,
the same day.

NOTE:1.The bidder should separately indicate the cost of refloating
& towing the vessel away wholly and the disposal value of the same.
The earnest money shall be paid / deposited in the form of crossed
Demand Draft from a Scheduled Bank payable in the name of the
Director of Tourism at Panaji Goa and it shall be enclosed in
Envelope No. 1. No cash will be accepted.
The earnest money to be lodged is on the understanding that in
the event of the bidder withdrawing his bid before the expiry of 90
days from the last date for submission of the bid, the bid would
be cancelled and the Earnest Money deposit therewith shall be
forfeited to the Director of Tourism.
The tender form / documents will be available for sale in the
Office of the Director of Tourism at Patto, Panaji, Goa 403 001 (India),
on any working day from 27.01.2003 to 7th February, 2003 during
office hours on payment of the cost of the form / document
(non-refundable).
The right to reject any or all bids without assigning any
reason thereof is reserved with the Director of Tourism &
the Competent Authority.
