Asha Bhosle's first theme restaurant to open in Dubai By Mridula Krishna, Indo-Asian News Service Dubai, Sep 8 (IANS) Indian singer Asha Bhosle has selected Dubai to open the first of the restaurants of her planned theme chain. Named "Asha's" offers a new experience in Dubai -- an innovative style of Indian restaurant combining traditional northwestern cuisine, authentic uniforms and a contemporary design. The restaurant will have a formal opening in November and a full opening in December, says Sean Butler, sales and public relations manager of Pyramids, Wafi City, who are the franchisee of Asha's. He said the Indian playback singer is currently training the head chef at her house in India and planned to open a series of restaurants in India and Britain. "Chef Mohammed Saleem Qurashi has spent three months in the kitchen with Asha (in Mumbai) perfecting her secret recipes that are destined to become special signature items," Butler told IANS. "Asha is developing a whole range of unique curry pastes in order to recreate the special taste sensations in your own home." Butler said if the Dubai venture proved a success, many other restaurants would be opened in the Gulf region. He refused to comment on the investment involved in the restaurant, which can house 400 people.
