'Tillari Project will be complete in 6 months' Herald Correspondent MAPUSA, FEB 5 - Health Minister Dayanand G Narvekar on Sunday announced that the Tillari Project will be completed in 6 months. Speaking at the North Goa Congress Workers meet, organized by the North Goa District Congress Committee at Mapusa Narvekar informed that with the commissioning of the Tillari Project water scarcity in the State will be solved.
While asserting that the pre-employment scheme floated by the previous BJP Government was a political stunt Narvekar said that the Congress Government is committed to provide permanent employment to unemployed youth. He disclosed that within the next one year, 5000 jobs will be generated in the IT and other sectors. Panchayat Minister Subhash Shirodkar in his address highlighted various social schemes formulated by the Congress Government. He appealed to Congress workers to work in Coordination with Congress leaders so that Government schemes and programmes reach the masses. Shirodkar called upon Congress workers to work unitedly for ensure mass support for the party so that the party fares better at the Assemby elections next year. MP Shantaram Naik, GPCC General Secretary Uday Bhembre and Senior Congress leader Ramakant Khalap briefed workers of the party activities. The workshop was inaugurated at the hands of Chief Minister Pratapsingh Rane who appealed to Congressmen to remain vigilant against false propoganda started by the BJP out of political frustration. The North Goa workers in a resolution adopted unanimously expressed its happiness over the people oriented policies and programmes started by the Congress Government, such as enhancement of social security pension from Rs 500 to Rs 750.
