Its this time of the year - when Goans from the four
corners of the world - start to make preparations
to celebrate an Unique World Goan event * WORLD
GOA DAY * this event is officially celebrated on the
2oth of August .
This is the day , when Goans from all walks of life
, irrespective of their religious beliefs or caste -
come TOGETHER to express their SOLIDARITY with Goans
wherever they may be.
This is also the day - when Goans world wide
celebrate their Goan Cultural Heritage and all things
Goan.
The various WORLD GOA DAY celebrations world wide
has made many of us aware of our Goan Culture and
Heritage , many have shown a keen interest in wanting
to know more and to be a part of these celebrations.
Many of our friends who have visited Goa and now
call themselves * Friends of Goa * - have also
indicated their interest in observing WORLD GOA DAY.
FOG 's on this list ....please do advise us if you
plan to celebrate WGD wherever you may be.
It's been six long years that this - the WGD event
was first launched , a few organizations participated
in the first year - as the years went by , more and
more Goan organist ions joined this world event and
in the process an informal Alliance has came about.
Now , the time has come for us to formalize this
great Goan Alliance , The ALLIANCE of WORLD GOAN
ORGANIZATIONS.
Goa net's support will go along way to help us to ac
hive this Alliance , our PARTNERSHIPS will strengthen
our community.
I believe that Goan Organisations should all work
TOGETHER , as the chances of SUCCESS is greater when
WORKED TOGETHER. We need to work TOGETHER , we need
an Alliance to make a success of whatever we do.
I also welcome the SUPPORT of all the other Goan
Forums , the On line Goan news dailies , Discussions
lists etc ., NGO's , Welfare Groups , Charitable
Groups - Groups formed on a not for profit basis - to
assist us in building this ALLIANCE.
It is with these thoughts - that I have asked the
President of GOA Toronto , Canada - Mr.Oscar Furtado
one of the strongest supporters of This Alliance - to
head this Cyberbased Goan Alliance.
Oscar has willing accepted to lead , and his messages
on * PULSE * , the GOA Toronto -online magazine
www.goatoronto.com -clearly indicates his and the
Goan Community of Toronto's commitment to this
Alliance.
Oscar Furtado , the President of the GOA Toronto ,
Canada - will announce the formation of ...The
Alliance of WORLD GOAN ORGANIZATIONS on the 23rd of
July 2005 at VIVA GOA DAY in the presence of over
6000 Goans from all over the world.
