The 'Zunzar Gramin Patrakar Sangh' (ZGPS) has been recently formed by correspondents from the constituencies of Aldona, Calangute and Saligao, who represent the English and vernacular dailies in the State.
The decision was taken at meeting, chaired by president of Anant Radha Vachan Mandir Vasudev Chodankar, at Ecoxim. Those elected to the committee consists of Ravindra Panjikar (president), Devidas Gaad (vice-president), Vasudev Chodankar (general secretary), Tulsidas Salgaonkar (joint secretary) and Prasad Mahambre (treasurer).
The members are Anil Shankwalkar, Vishwanath Halarnkar, Dinesh Veluskar and Rajtilak Naik.
The formal inauguration of the ZGPS will take place on August 15 at 5.30 pm at the Anant Radha Vachan Mandir in Ecoxim, to be attended by Goa Union of Journalists President Gurudas Sawal.
