DH News Service Washington:

The US House of Representatives has passed a resolution honouring contributions of Indian Americans to economic innovation and society. The resolution, sponsored by Republican Congressman Tom Davis, made a special reference to graduates of Indian Institutes of Technology, who have been active in different professions and disciplines.

The resolution ârecognises the valuable and significant contributions of Indian Americans to American society, honours the economic innovation of Indian Institutes of Technology graduates and urges all Americans to recognise their contributions and have greater appreciation of their role in helping to advance American society.â

Congressman Davis said the Indian Institutes of Technology have produced thousands of talented graduates who have sought and achieved highest levels of professional success in United States. âMost Silicon Valley firms have at least one IIT graduate among their top executives. IIT graduates are wonderful ambassadors of their homeland, and continue to strengthen friendship between India and US,â he said.
