The Union of Navelim celebrated on the 14th of November the feast of our Lady of Holy Rosary at the Bishop Thomas RC school, Belltrees grove, Streatham, London with a concelebrated mass by Fr. E. Fernandes. In a festive & packed atmosphere, the live band 'Breakthru' kept both the young and old on their toes with their scintillating music. D'costa's provided the catering. At the Annual general body meeting on the same day, Maurilo Mergulhao was elected the President, Leonard Mergulhao as secretary, Sandra Fernandes as Secretary and Amelia Gomes as the Social Secretary. Selvyn Ferrao and Gabe Menezes still remain in the committee besides ten others. A sum of £280 was handed for the cause of a priest in urgent need of an operation in Goa. The Union of Navelim will be celebrating the Silver Jubilee the coming year.
