Thought of posting this news item because sometime back there was a suggestion from one of the NRIs/NRGs that everytime they go/come down to Goa they should donate a football.This might interest them. " There was absolutely no government support. The villagers have contributed all they could to raise this dream. Named Poriat ground (Calangute) the ground is spread over an area of 27000 sq.m. and among the biggest in Goa. With a playing field of 108x 72 m it remains, for the moment even bigger than the one at Nehru stadium.....The Panchayat raised fund to the tune of Rs.60 lakhs to come up with this exquisite football ground......."
