Hello Joe!
Actual Konkani words for godmother and godfather are "modon" ani "podon" respectively. The words “kumar” ani “kumpar” are derived from Portuguese words – cumadre and cumpadre. Colloquially, a male who has an illicit affair with a female is known as a "kumpar" and a female is known as a "kumar" - a keep! Here are two examples:
"Ferminan aple bailek soddlea ani kumarik ghevun miroita!" (Fermin abandoned his wife and is having a good time with his keep!)
"Bostianan atam novo kumpar kela!" (Bostian now has a new boyfriend!)
A “mindd or dhogodd” is a person who has an illicit relationship with a woman. Here is an example: “Atam konnank roddtai, mainchea minddak - kha patolleo!”
I explained in my article that a “mavso-bhav” means mother’s sister’s son – a close relationship between two relatives. Sometimes, when a boy/man tries to get too close to a girl/woman who is not related to him, elders/neighbors interfere and question him: “Tum tacho mavso-bhav lagta kitem re?” (Are you her mother’s sister’s son?)
I already mentioned in my article that the Konkani word for wife’s sister’s husband is “saddu;” there is no doubt about it.

Kumar/Kumpar means child's God parents
but now a days the word Kumpar is widely used in different sense i.e. when wife
(or
even a unmarried girl) having affair with another man (outside marriage or
before
marriage)
Another word used in above case is 'Mindd' (dont know what it mean). Sometimes, 'Mauxe-bhau' also used in the sense.
Same for men too i.e. Kumar(i) ---------
another name I remember 'Saddu' Miunnecho Ghou ?
