New Delhi: Former Army Chief General (Retd) Sunith Francis Rodrigues was on Monday named the new Governor of Punjab.
According to a Rashtrapati Bhavan communique, Gen Rodrigues will also function as the Administrator of Chandigarh.
Gen Rodrigues, who replaces Justice (Retd) O P Verma who resigned last week, remained Army Chief for three years -- from June 30, 1990 to June 30, 1993.
