Dear Thalmann,

Greetings.

re <1 )" baim " in Konknni means "well " in English
. So a "bath " seems inappropriate.

even a "bath-room" (E) or bathing room = "casa de
baim" (P), has no equivalent word in rustic Konknni>

jc: response (1) I agree that "baim" means "well" but
am not so sure that "bathroom" = "casa de baim" (P)

===

re: (2) further what about following words :

<(a)ministr (K) = ministerio (P) = minister (E)
it does not always have to be " MONTRI "

(b) dotor (K) = doutor (P) = doctor (E)
it does not always have to be " VOIZ " >

jc: response
I am not so sure that minister (E) = ministerio (P)

I am sure that there are many more Lusitanian words
which were commonly used in Konkani. but are being
decapitated in the interest of "Purity" which I submit
is another name for Saraswatness. All others being
impure....of course (;-)

repeating what was posted in the original post by me

"we are placing a provisional list of Konkani words
which are being targeted by the Saraswat Revisionists
for decapitation"

Thank you for your contribution...together, we Goans
can work towards putting breaks on these Revisionists!

PS: Wouldn't many Goans be taking a banho(bath) by the
baim(well)?

good wishes

jose
