The American said it was a great country with amazing ancient history, and rich with natural resources. The Indian friend then asked, "How did you find the Indians?" "Indians?" asked the American. "What Indians? I didn't find or meet a single Indian." "What nonsense are you talking?" asked the Indian. "Who else can you meet in India?" The American said: "In Kashmir I met a Kashmiri; in Punjab a Punjabi; ...in Bihar, Maharashtra Rajasthan, Bengal, Tamilnadu, Kerala....I met Biharis, Marathis, Marwadis, Bengalis, Tamilians, Malayalis.... Then I met a Muslim, a Hindu, a Christian, a Jain, a Buddhist, and many more. But I never met a single Indian...."
