India assembled four naval task forces for the 1961 Goa ops.
Led by the newly acquired aircraft carrier INS Vikrant
bearing about a dozen-and-half Sea Hawk combat and Alizé
antisubmarine aircraft, the carrier group had the Indian
Nav
Seems to me there was a complete breakdown in Indian intelligence gathering
with reference to the Portuguese forces and their armaments.
This lack of intelligence carried over to cause the humiliating defeat by China
in just the next year.
