Sir,
Sub: Your edit 'Bad Logic of Justice Shah
http://www.navhindtimes.in/opinion/bad-logic-justice-shah

This Goa's political Party wishes to bring to your kind attention the following vis a vis your above edit:-
1. That those who get to eat free of cost cannot criticize.
2. Your calling Justice Shah's logic as bad is well understood because his verdict goes against the mining lobby, you being [or was] part of it. 3. You cannot sit on high pedestal of being the newspaper financed by the mining enterprise and pass judgments. Leave the people of Goa to do that. 4. The mining barons have created this situation of putting the livelihood of thousands of Goans at stake by bundling them into trades that has serviced your profit making enterprises for far too long. Now is the time that you should pay heavy compensations to these families whose lively-hood you are so worried about.
5. This Party has the formula:

a) You ( the mining lobby/mine owners combined) pay 3/4th of the monthly compensation to the families of Goan people who have been or may be rendered jobless, until such time that these people are given back their livelihood. The compensation should be Rs. 15,000/- to Rs. 25,000/- per month per family, depending on large/small families. The rest to be paid by the Government of Goa.

b) Auction/Sell the Trucks and/or Mining Machinery that these Goan families own ( not Ministers and MLAs) and off-set their loans and mortgages so that they are freed, not to commit suicide like Maharashtra farmers.

c) Ban mining in Goa completely and freeze all ore exports until such time a complete and forward looking mining policy is establish for Goa's mining sector.

It is amply evident that Justice Shah has acted or is acting on the below given advice by this Party and Allied Organizations which does not mince words and are far from protecting the mining lobby and mine owners of Goa.

Sir,

The people of GOA believe that the mineral resources of GOA is the 'gift ' of GOD to GOA and Goans.

They also believe that :

If the exploitation of these mineral resources do not benefit GOA and Goans in any way, but on the contrary, if the massive and indiscriminate illegal and legal exploitation of these vital resources of Goa brings unending pain and suffering to them through massive and unimaginable 'dust pollution' which has resulted in bringing the curse of 'TB' on the people, unbearable noise pollution emanating from the 24-hour working of noisy mining machinery and the un-ending line of overloaded ore transporting road vehicles, where they cannot live a decent peaceful life in the most peaceful God-given surroundings, drying out of their natural water resources, their well, to make them dependent on the unfiltered and polluted water from the mining pits supplied to them by the mine-owners as a favour, if their forests are massively depleted endangering its wild life, forcing these creatures to invade their villages and settlements to destroy their crops and whatever livelihood they have, if their agricultural fields are silted beyond cultivation from the mining rejects flowing down into their fields during the heavy monsoons, if their roads and houses are covered with dust making walking and living miserable,

THEN THE PEOPLE OF GOA DEMAND THAT THESE GOD-GIVEN MINERAL RESOURCES OF GOA REMAIN BURIED AND UNTOUCHED WHETHER THE GOA GOVERNMENT OR THE CENTRAL GOVERNMENT LIKES IT OR NOT.

Justice, Sir,

Heed must be taken that if GREED prevails over basic common sense, the 'powers that be' shall be ever so responsible in bringing this, OUR, ordinarily peaceful GOA to a boiling point of no return.

Thank you,

(Floriano Lobo)
