DAY 3: Campus-Radio FM Career Guidance Series at PES College, Farmagudi

P R E S S R E L E A S E

The Campus-Radio FM Career Guidance Series once again saw a 'house-full' at
the PES College, Farmagudi, on 20 September 2006. Present on the occasion were
Mr V. S. Page, Station Engineer (AIR), Mr Dinghe, Principal, Gerson Rebelo of
Frankfinn and Ilidio de Noronha of Plus Publications.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal Dinghe extended a warm welcome and thanked
the organisers for making their institution a part of the Career Guidance
trail.

The career expert for the day was well-known corporate trainer and life coach
Mr Pravin Sabnis whose presentation titled "Soft skills for hard careers" left
the lively audience asking for more.

Complimenting the first talk was the next by Mr Prasad Joshi who shared his
experience in adventure and eco-tourism. Mr Joshi who is Goa's only A-grade
certified mountaineer was certainly an inspiration to the youth of the area
like Ponda which particularly lends itself to the fast growing adventure and
eco-tourism industry.

>From the mountains to the skies was where Mrs Vidya D'Silva of Frankfinn
Institute, Margao, led the responsive audience with her succinct presentation
on careers in aviation and hospitality.

The Q&A that followed saw the students fielding numerous queries which were
effectively tackled by the expert panel.

The 90-minute session which was interspersed with lively games and spot
contests, was hosted by FM Rainbow's popular RJ Bambino.

This first of its kind event is being organised by All India Radio, Panaji, in
association with Plus Publications, publishers of the forthcoming book
Careers: The Complete Guide, in select colleges around Goa from 18th September
to 3rd October 2006.

The educational institutions forming part of the Career Guidance Series
include Dempo College (Altinho, Panaji), OL of Rosary HSS (D Paula), PES
(Ponda), Dhempe College & Dempo HSS (Miramar), St Xavier's College (Mapusa),
St Xavier's HSS (Mapusa), Chowgule College (Margao), Rosary College (Navelim),
Carmel College (Nuvem) and Damodar College (Margao).

The forthcoming sessions will see FM Rainbow's popular Radio Jockeys including
like Sachin, Bambino, Savio, Richard, Leeta, Saish, Alfie, Nerita, Usha,
Shakuntala, Sphinx, Charushila, Shyam, Pratima, Elias and others interact with
the students.

The most interesting aspect of this series will be the fact that every episode
will be broadcast on FM Rainbow from 1st October 2006.

TOMORROW'S VENUE:

Dhempe College of Arts & Science and Dempo College of Commerce, Miramar; 11 am.

Career Expert for the Day: Mervyn Sequeira will speak on 'What Corporates look
for while recruiting?
