To The Editor Herald Publications Panjim Goa 29 th July 2010 Dear Sir,
*KINDLY PUBLISH IN LETTER TO THE EDITOR COLUMN *This is with reference to the article appearing in Herald dtd 28th July captioned as Bishops office under RTI Act . It is really surprising that the Mapuca Legislator Francis D'Souza who is part of the panel should entertain Antonia Michel Abels' requests which are really absurd , insulting and an invasion into the independent and secular functioning of the Church in Goa. The said Antonia Abel has made ridiculous suggestions about the Portuguese laws and culture and customs which we Goans so uniquely have imbibed and follow for centuries together and are very proud of our culture and traditions. Infact it is our unique culture which binds and brings us Goans together no matter what faith or creed we belong to , unlike other states that are constantly experiencing communal riots and tensions instigated by communal outfits and parties. I hope the Mapuca Legislator realises that he also represents a sizeable number of Catholics and other Goans from his constituency and shouldnt give in to mischievous suggestions like that of Antonia just because she maybe his constituent. Instead of directing the Law department he can guide and direct such silly suggestions or even any genuine queiries to the *Commission for Social Communications set up by the Goa Archdiocese*. *Col.Cyril P.D'Souza ( Retd.) * KHH phase 11 Gauravaddo - Calangute Goa Pin : 403516 Tel :08322282881 * * * UK STOCKS EXHAUSTED!
