Hence it was with eager anticipation that my wife and I accepted the chance to be a part of the Cuncolim Welfare Trust Committee picnic going to Khandala and reviving nostalgic memories. Cuncolkars, always do things in style, so it was no surprise that the arrangements were meticulous, Right from organizing the transportation, the delicious snacks, the food, a gourmet's delight and entertainment throw in for free. St. Mary's Villa occupies a pride of place overlooking the ravine and mini waterfalls and the lodging provided were most amenable to all. Special mention must be made of certain individuals who helped to make this a memorable and enjoyable occasion. Evans Fernandes and Joe Martins provided us musical interludes seconded by the ladies, Laurencia, Sylvia, Loretta and Mabel, between the eating / hogging sessions, which saw no end to the food and snacks offered varying from grilled chicken, fish, to wholesome snacks and food provided by the in-house caterer. Benes / Sylvia Coutinho were the quiz kids, Tony Coutinho the housie man, Joe, Francis Jacques and Alex D'souza the chefs on duty and the picnic was orchestrated by Nassim, Ronnie with assistance from Jack of all trades – Chris.
