In my last post on Dalit cemetry, I had mentioned that in Luce's book
it does not say where in India the Dalit cemetries are located. I am
taking about my excerpt from In Spite of the Gods: The Strange Rise of
Modern India. I later found the following, "In many cases, including
Goa, Dalit Catholics have separate churches and separate cemetries." I
believe this was the exact or almost the same sentence in an earlier
post by someone who was making a point about Christians and caste. I
have a feeling the answer may be in Srinivar, edited by Zarina
Bhatty's. So the search continues. Perhaps, I should write Edward Luce
at the Washington Bureau of the Financial Times. If any one else
tracks this down please share.
