The Office of the Lokayukta was a slim hope for Goans to achieve some justice.
Unfortunately its powers were diminished and now Goans have less access to

It is outrageous that armed with its brute majority, the Goa Government has
in the just concluded four day Assembly session shot down whatever few
powers were vested with the Lokayukta. By bulldozing those controversial

The recently appointed Goa Lokayukta Justice P.K.Misra has fixed on 16th
June the preliminary hearing on the complaint that was filed on April 3rd
2013 against the then Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and Dattaprasad
Kholkar the Deputy Chairman of the State Planning Board who is also the
State BJP
There is no more appropriate act than establishing one's credibility and
honesty than declaring ones Assets and Liabilities before accepting a position
of responsibility in Government. This should be the standard, as it is in the
US for ALL from the Chief Minister down to the Secretaries of
Justice B. Sudershan Reddy should declare his assets and liabilities as on
March 16th this year, which is the day he was sworn in as the Lokayukta of
Goa.
It is surprising that despite almost three months, details of the assets of
the Goa Lokayukta have not yet been made public and that even the
Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar had on 6th May announced publicly that the
Goa Lokayukta bill was already on President Pratibha Patil’s desk for her
signature.
On 7th May I spoke to Rastrapati Bhavan officials who informed that the Goa
Lokayukta bill had not yet reached them. It was later
