That Manohar Parrikar has over the last eight weeks been desperately
canvassing in Panaji trying to fool the voters once again is only proof
that he has miserably failed as MLA over the last twenty long years.

After being MLA for two decades, Chief Minister twice and now the Defence
minister he could have easily got a worthy candidate elected if he had
sincerely done justice to the faith that was reposed on him by the people
of Panaji. There is even a simmering outrage within his own BJP cadres on
the dictatorial manner in which Manohar Parrikar has foisted his candidate.
Will be another Kiran Bedi?

The people of Panaji on 13th February have a golden opportunity to silently
through their secret vote resolutely dissent against the politics of
arrogance and manipulation displayed by Manohar Parrikar. Alike Narendra
Modi he has only promised a lot but miserably failed to deliver. Manohar
Parrikar has been wrongly projected as someone very intelligent. It is
surprising that despite being an IIT he cannot write a sentence in proper
English. In reading any of his file notings, its grammatical and spelling
errors galore.

Goa has never seen such a vindictive, ruthless and deceitful Chief Minister
who has only abused power to his own benefit. Even his own Ministers and
MLAs privately dub him as very corrupt. Unable to govern he abandoned Goa
in a total mess and swiftly slipped off to Delhi only further burdening the
tax payer on this unnecessary by-election.

Manohar Parrikar recently stated that the Ghar Wapsi programme of religious
re-conversion would not be allowed to touch Goa. Is he okay with it being
done across other parts of the country? Does this signify his tacit
knowledge and approval of the Ghar Wapsi across the country? We would only
have to await the day when the scourge hits Goa and true to his style,
Manohar Parrikar will wash off his hands claiming he is now out of Goa!

The very crafty Manohar Parrikar is trying to project that he is
indispensable. Panaji had good and formidable MLAs prior to 1984 and will
be well represented in the years to come. Nobody is indispensable and
specially someone who has neglected and taken Panjimites for a ride over
last two decades. Despite having moved to Delhi Manohar Parrikar continues
to run Goa by remote. The sooner this meddling stops the better would it be
without his shadow further ruining what remains of Goa.

The defeat of Manohar Parrikar’s BJP should weigh upper most on the mind of
every sensible Panaji voter when he stands before the EVM on Friday
the 13th February.
By defeating the BJP we would also simultaneously liberate Panaji from the
clutches of Manohar Parrikar. It would be two for the price of one. What a
combo. Couldn’t hope for a better deal!
