Goa Sudharop, a volunteer and non-profit organization that works for the betterment of Goa and Goans worldwide, hosted the International Goan Youth Convention in Goa during the last week of December 2012. The convention sought to bring together Goan youth from across the world, help them learn more about Goa and give them the opportunity to work on projects in different fields, like environmental, educational, heritage-related, social and medical projects, that will benefit Goa.
As a follow-up to the convention, Goa Sudharop seeks to empower team-working between students, teachers and other youth by creating 'Sangodd' volunteer networks to be located in various educational institutions. These 'Sangodd" volunteer networks will interact, innovate and initiate activities that will include the range from understanding Goa to transforming Goa. A preliminary workshop meeting of students, teachers, NSS volunteers & program officers, youth and proactive volunteers will be held on Sunday, 3rd February 2013 at Fr Agnel's College, Pilar, Goa.
