Smoking Chutney Goa's latin-jazz-funk-blues band has been featuring some great
international visiting artistes and the latest is Colombian saxophone virtuoso
David Jacome. David studied music at the Barcelona school of music in Spain and
then performed all over the world with many different jazz ensembles. He
visited India for the first time as a couch surfer and was quite surprised with
the buzzing live music scene in Goa. He fitted in easily with Smoking Chutney
and looks forward to taking on the band's invitation to join as a permanent
member. Besides being a great saxohonist David is also a fantastic salsa dancer
like most Colombians and he burns up the dance floor as well wherever he
performs. Smoking Chutney is spreading it's wings across the country and around
the world, so David's saxophone playing would definitely raise the bar. The
band is currently getting geared to perform at one of India's premier live
music events called Baaja Gaaja being
organised every year by singer Padma Shree Shubha Mudgal. The band is also
invited to perform at the Indigo jazz and blues festival later this year where
they will launch their debut latin-jazz-funk-blues all original album titled
'Goa Grooves'. Checkout some of the tracks from the album at
