It's one of the reasons I don't write so often on Goanette. People start getting very personal. It is true we Indians or Goans are emotional people, but other people are sensitive too. We should respect their opinions if we want ours to be respected. Sometimes I get this feeling, we have a peg of "Fenni" and then decide, OK, now I'm going to vent out my unbalanced emmotions. But this is only breeding ignorance!. The best results are only achieved when giving one's opinion without hurting anybody else's feelings. ----------------------- Dear Isabella, Being a keen student of the English language I found some of your spellings quaintly interesting. Spelling Fenni with a double 'n' is not unique, but rather rare. I myself prefer 'Feni'. Caju Feni to be exact. Also 'emmotions' with a double 'm' is quite appealing and yes a bit unbalanced. Now considering that all your names, including surnames, contain a double letter combination I am assuming that this is a hereditary trait. A study of your ancestors' names should reveal such a pattern. Your major contribution though to GoaNet in particular and the English language in general is the way you spelled it as "Goanette'. The suffix 'ette' brings to mind the dimunitive and the feminine. A small scooter, a small kitchen, a small cigar, a female bachelor, a female major... Maybe a new GoaNette could be created that is small and feminine. Cheers! Cecil P.S. I Googled 'GoaNette' and found no entries. Isabella, that means you have coined a word. Congratulations. =========
