Of late, there's been a cacophonic and enthusisatic campaign by a cheer leader of Parrikar, who it is claimed as a panacea for all the ills afflicting Goa, that with the magic wand will bring about enlightment and prosperity to the people not fit to be ruled other than by the lofty IIT-ian. Bravo, Parrikar the saviour!

Parrikar, despite not earning the popular mandate, but through chicanery and machiavellan practice of his IIT-inspired brand of politics, usurped and manipulated his colleagues to piggy-ride to power on two occasions. The initial euphoria generated by his drive to clean up the many skeletons of the previous govts. soon faded away as he succumbed too soon to his inner urges to stamp his 'majoritarian' rule on his governance. His overt and covert encouragement to rabid communalists, religious bigots, vandalism is for all to see except to those blinded by a sense of self-importance and a pathetic, puerile display of bravado. The hollowness and intellectual bankruptucy of an individual gets pronounced when massaging one's own ego is reduced to an exercise of breast-beating in the public domain.

That aside, there's hardly any choice for the electors in Goa. If one party is abjectly corrupt beyond redemption, the other is congenitally communal from conception. What is on offer are degrees of corruption and deception. Where do we go from here? For an person privatising and garnering public wealth for himself or for the one who pits one individual against the other in the name of Faith? One, destroying the individual soul, the other- soul of Goa.

The charlatans, masquareding as the fountainhead of all knowledge should see the larger picture before dishing out blaring unsolicited advice or cock their holes if they cannot have a clearer vision.
