HONEST INTROSPECTION AND BACK TO BASICS REQUIRED
The many problems of schools/ teachers/students attempting online education
during lockdown should be a factual eye opener after the migrants/ transport
messup, that rushing into complete reliance on the digital world, cashless
society etc without ground realities and reliable infrastructure considerations
is only going to get us all into further suffering and mess! Unreliable power
and servers/internet need upgrade. Not everyone can afford smart phones and
there are millions besides some senior citizens who find it difficult to
operate the equipment/procedures and have no one to help. It is really
frustrating when one cannot even get through leave alone transact! So let us
please get back to reliable infrastructure first and stop grandoise plans and
dirty electoral politics even before we have the finances and conquered
Corona. Frustrated medics in Mumbai and Delhi openly say they do not need
clanging of bells or petals showered on them but the basics like their basic
salaries, staff and equipment/medecines to treat the hordes of dangerous Corona
and Cancer patients left neglected and dying. Looking at the behavior of most
of our politicians, it appears that the numbers they are interested in are the
votes they can garner which are more important than the number of patients,
beds, and give the help our frontline warriors(medics) desperately need.
Big talk is the mantra of Niti Aayog in line with PMs grandoise plans of
changing the face of India and rehabilitation packages boasted about when
basics are not sound and post Corona practical down to earth measures with
people first lacking. Do we need Corona,Chinese, Nepal to teach us a much
needed lesson?
