Is this what democracy is all about? Is this why the people sent these chaps there? It will be an interesting exercise to try identify the following with regard to these alleged Goa legislators. I say 'alleged legislators' because they appear to be spending more time playing Musical Kodels than do the people's work. 1: Who among the present lot has been involved in the most number of these 'coups' and defections? 2: In a 'democracy', is it true that the people have to pay for EVERY elected legislator (from the ruling party) to be a Minister? 3: What is the 'democratic' purpose of a legislator being asked to serve as a Minister? 4: Is the ability to serve the main criterion for Ministership - or are there other criteria? I'd say this - IMHO Mr. Churchill Alemao is the person I'd say is the most honest among the present lot. At least he does not pretend that he is principled or anything remotely near that. WYSIWYG - what you see is what you get. My solution for Goa Hand over Goa to anyone of the following: 1: Dr. Antonio Oliveira Salazar of Lisboa: I believe that he (in his present steady state) will do a better job of Governance than the present unsteady lot. 2: Maharashtra - though I am not so sure that Maharashtra would want Goa anymore. Not with this amount of confusao - besides, they have their own brand of confusao. 3: Bihar - Hummh ...sounds like an interesting prospect. The political cultures appears to be quite similar in the two places 4: Churchill Alemao - he says he is ready in principal. Which one? ...the Principal of the primary School in Varca of course!. 5: The 'caucasian' land-owning visitors from afar - Oh Oh ....look at Morjim ...They are already in control jc
