Konkani Musical Show 'Natalamcho Kunsvar'
Manama, Nov. 29: Francis de Tuem, a budding artiste of the Konkani stage based in Kuwait, will arrive this evening into Bahrain along with Jose Rod to perform in the Konkani Musical Show 'Natalamcho Kunsvar'. The well-known Goan, Domnic Fernandes (de Anjuna), based in Dhahran, KSA will also be arriving later in the night. It will be after a long gap that Domnic Fernandes will be acting in a guest appearance! The show under the patronage of Young Goans Club will be held at the Baan Saeng Thai Restaurant Auditorium on tomorrow, November 30, starting at 8.00 p.m. It will feature 25 new songs (solos, duets and quartets) by Indian artistes Ophelia, Babli, William de Curtorim, Jose Rod and Benny. Ophelia, a veteran with over 50 years' experience, is popularly known as the tragedy queen for her heart-rending performances. She has also performed for several film productions and was married to the late Bab Peter, who passed away in Bahrain last year. Babli, the couple's only daughter, is also a well-known singer. William de Curtorim is known for songs based on politics, focusing on the corrupt politicians of Goa. Jose Rod has performed in several stage plays and has released CDs in India. Benny is a Bahrain-based singer and composer. His performances have been compared to shows by the late 'Melody King' Alfred Rose. Besides the local based Konkani artistes, the Organizers has flown in from India: Ophelia, Babli and William de Curtorim.
