Now that the Attorney General of India Mukul Rohatgi in his wisdom has
clearly opined that the Supreme Court order banning sale of liquor within
500 metres of state and national highways does not apply to bars and
restaurants that serve alcohol, the best way forward is for the Central
Government or the Goa Government to immediately get the Supreme Court to
clarify on this issue. If the Supreme Court concurs with Mukul Rohatagi’s
interpretation of that judgment, in Goa it should resolve the issue of at
least 95% of those businesses who would otherwise be affected from 1st
April.

Why is the Goa Government sitting tight over the issue for over two long
months and trying to unjustifiably leave it for the next Government. This
Government has to do its bit, unless covertly it's pushing the BJP and RSS
agenda to also make Goa a Dry State.
