Many thanks,

Hi Joe, Lino & Kon to Pandu Lampiao,

Thanks for the nostalgic memories of Caminhâo. In the early sixties during my
school days the Caminhâo made a long stopover at Betalbatim for the regidor or
was it the batcar to complete his shaving process as a matter of routine for
his daily trip to Margao. No one seemed to care for the dealy except Fish and
Veg vendors who were irked by the delay but would never grumble over it
publicly nor the bus driver and clyndor would dare move without the batkar
perched on the left seat.

As a 14 years student of "Escola Commercial de Margao" I remember making that
trip on a Caminhâo sitting squeezed to a cute girl from Cansaulim that I wished
then lasted forever. All I could do however is make that trip last a little
longer in that instead of getting off at po(r)nne bazar I continued the trip up
to the last stop opposite to Quartel, the police hqs., and walked all the way
back to the old market where my school was located.

"Burkulo" his real name "Agostinho" was from Belloy, Nuvem. He owned a taxi
after the Carreiras had all vanished from the Goan scene. Agostinho always
dressed stylish and almost the same manner quoted his taxi fares by the
physical appearance of his customers. His son Luis was my classmate and often
rode a BMW bike to school. Luis was married and had one or two kids but was
overweight and died young I was told later.
