It does no credit to the Goan Catholic Community not to have a single candidate 
appear in the list of the 685 declared successful today May 30, by the UPSC 
which conducted the central services exams and interview.

From this empanelled list the IAS, IFS, IPS, and the Central Services Group A 
and B cadres (the Forest Service, Revenue Service, Accounting & Auditing 
Service, Railway Service and the like will be filled).

A single name - John George D’Coutho (yes that’s the spelling) appears, but I 
doubt he is Goan.

It does no credit to Goan Catholic Educators spread all over the country not to 
be able to train Goan lads for these All-India services.

Truth is I would have been happier to see our boys and girls fill in these 
important posts to empower their community rather than to celebrate the hollow, 
empty and meaningless elevation of a Goan bishop to a Cardinal’s position.
